timber frame plans

does any one have any knowledge about the frame plans sold by thr back home magazine. It is a 1700 sq.ft. salt box. They claim it is the house that is used in the book mortage free. I know you get what you pay for. they claim it has saw list and several pages as well as joint info no need to buy a pig in a poke. I know very little about timber frame but want to learn what i can
