Can anyone help me find a source for those big "bed bolt" type connectors? You know, big long bolt through the side of the post into a threaded steel dowel set at 90* to the bolt. Supposedly Green Mt. Precision Frames in Vermont makes them but I'm having trouble finding a number. Thanks

Member Peter Ferick might be able to help.

Log Builder Robert Chambers also makes use of them (robert@logbuilding.org) 715 425 1739, but I think he's in New Zealand on a job until March 20.

Good luck.

I am not sure if they are the size you are looking for but Rockler's Woodworking Supply carries the one commonly used in bed constructon. Perhaps if they don't carry the size you need, they can put you in touch with their supplier who may have what you need.

Scott, I usually make my own as I need them. for the dowel either use cold rolled steel or Chrome-moly for extra strength. drill and tap hole size needed for the dersired bolt size. this makes it easy when you need non-standard sizes for each application.
