Timber Framers Guild Forums Tools Timber Engineering Scarr joint placement.

As I recall it I've seen an article in TF or Scantlings dealing with the subject of where to place a scarf joint in a top plate or ridge when both posts and braces are present.
Anybody recalls it, or know about these matters??
I've been searchin TF index and my issues of TF and Scantling whith no luck.
