I like the idea of highlighting the beauty and joinery of my splines. This being said I want to use species which contrast with the main timber choice. I've used mahogany and walnut in past frames which were not structural, but can I use these on loaded joints? Would I look at the Tension parallel to the grain to find acceptable species? Is there a magic number out there I want to be above? Thank you for your time.
