I found a way to do this that enables interested parties to view a model without having (or understanding) sketchup. Hyperscom player is required and you will be directed to the site to get the player. Look at my site and click the 3d barn model link and let me know what you think. It's a little rough but I am thinking it would make a good sales tool. www.atlanticwoodworks.biz

I don't normally download software from sites I'm not familiar with(Hyperscom). If most people are like this, then first time visitors will not likely see the model. Potential clients would probably be more inclined to check it out....

Berry, Didn't find a 3d barn on the front page but, the you tube was pretty nice...
Sketchup has a free viewer as well. Not the full free drawing program. Just a viewer.
You could also hot link to the wharehouse

The model is not on the front page, there are 2 links to it. One in the main menu and one in the nav bar at the top of the page.
I had thought that there was a "viewer" but I found the other thing first. I guess I could use that and link to the warehouse but people would still be leery of installing strange software no matter what I use.....I would think.

Berry, if you haven't downloaded it yet....you might want to look into the layout program that works with SU.
Its a PDF format based program that will import SKP drawing from SU and output them as .PDF files.
The nice thing about it is....if you have more than one page the layout program will allow you send a complete set of drawings in one PDF document....
I just started using it...and I can see a lot of potential in this program.

PDF's are 2D aren't they? If I'm doing a 2d presentation I'm doing it in person. This gadget makes an applet that can be rotated and 'walked' through which is why I like it.

You can also get the RPS 3D PDF from Render Plus http://forums.renderplus.com/wiki/index.php?title=RPS_3D_PDF The 3D models aren't as nice as the Hypercosm ones but you don't need to download any player if you have Adobe Reader Version 7.0.7 or newer, or Adobe Acrobat.
