Does anyone have any experience with any schools or classes that focus on timberframe design and engineering? I see that there are a few in Canada that offer this as a part of their 4 week long courses. But they are a long way from Kansas. Any ideas?

Rocky Mountain Workshops near Ft. Collins, Colorado offers a couple workshops which might fit the bill. They're dependent on enrollment, of course, so get the word out early.

Forget not the courses offered by the guild at Heartwood School

Steve Chappell holds a great school. 1 week or 2 weeks. His shop is in Maine, but if you go to his website you'll see he does workshops all over. Fox Maple Press. Just google that.

I took his work shop and built my own 32 x 40 cape. I loved every minute of it. The frame came out perfect.
