Avoid them. You have very dangerous stuff going on. Everybody should wearing safety glasses within the area. A ricocheting nail or exploding knot could be a life changer. Conifer knots tend to be violent exploders. You may try predrilling a hole if have to have a fastener in a knot. Protect yourself and coworkers, avoid knots. Having spent my life with one eye I can't express how important protection is. Everybody within several yards of that nail gun should have eye and ear protection.
