I will add one wish list item. SU deals with surface modelling only and not as a solid?
Is there a method to convert an SU TF model into a solid equivalent.(dxf,dwg or
other software?)

Hi Irv.

Version 15 is currently in Beta test. It will add several new features. Watch this space, and the mailing list for an announcement soon.

Regarding modeling as a solid - you are correct: Sketchup does not model this way. There may be a conversion program available, but I'm not aware of any. Why do you need this? CB.

I am planning to do some carvings and letterings on the timber frame and am working with different programs(designer) to setup up my designs. Transferring these 3D designs are best to work with a solid timber member. Here is a simple sample of what I have cut.

Well, I know you can export from sketchup to autocad format, but that it will export in wireframe. Is there a way within autocad to convert wireframe to solid? CB.

Well I don't have autocad, though I can export SU in dxf or dwg. I am exploring different software products(cheap) to work with what I have.
