I've been doing some plumbing recently (conventional house). I was just wondering what you do differently in a Timberframe?
Do you leave it exposed (copper) and try to run it together in parallel runs, polish it before putting it up, clearing it, or keeping it polished?
Do you ever run pipes through a timber? If so do you run it through the neutral plane in a beam? It wouldn't seem too much of a problem with a post.
Do you sheath the pipe with a plastic sleeve to protect the wood from moisture? Or do you over size the hole to leave air flow around the pipe?
Any other tips for running plumbing in a TF? I'm thinking especially for the second floor. You can run first floor stuff in the basement or crawl space or in the floor joists if you frame a deck. I just haven't seen this topic discussed much since I've been on here.
