Peglets, that sounds appropriate and adoptable. Peglets can be dangerous under foot.
I am sawing the stock for a 4 bent king post truss, just the 42' top plates left. The first bent is a true truss as well as the next two. The fourth is the gable end and I don't plan on changing the rafter peak joinery by omitting the king and turning the rafter joint into a tongue and fork, I will keep the pieces all the same and redundant. It will be boarded with vertical boards so there will be a girt in the fourth bent as a nailer, which will be interrupted by a center post. This changes the kings joinery at that bent to a simple tenon at its foot, and leaving the king as a true king post. All the other kings will have wedged half dovetails. Tim
