I only have a couple of minutes to post and have to run but I thought I would take the time to share these images of a
male dobsonfly I found a few days ago.
The first image is just a hair smaller than life size; this will give everyone an idea of the size of this insect. They are harmless since the mandibles are too large for the insect to exert much force with them (and in case anyone is curious, that's my hand he's sitting on).
