I need to cut a large diameter arch in 8 oak 14" x 11" x 60" chunks (not sure beam is correct word - since it's not going to support anything).
Can't justify a mafel portable beam saw. Is it possible to rig up something to work on a large vertical band saw? Would the band saw need to be particularly fast? fyi: the oak logs haven't been cut yet (into the chunk). But they've been drying for over a year.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
