In log building cob blasting is pretty common. I saw one builder question blasting potential "bug food" into crevices. Don't know if that's a legit concern or not. I've heard of dry ice blasting but have never seen any, no cleanup.
I've used an osborne brush in a right angled drill as one more technique for the files.
