I dont like the stanley saws fat jet or otherwise :rolleyes: ; not enough set on them, too flimsy, and of course unsharpenable and disposable. I am just nicely getting into timber framing. On previous jobs I use a 3 point rip, disston or similar to cut along the grain. I had a fantastic old keen kutter with diminishing teeth which I sold for a very good price, but I regretted it immaediately; the teeth were almost vertical and fairly generously set, it would only start and go with a light touch but it was like no other saw i have used, even a japan pull saw. It was a revelation that a saw could rip so fast and easy. I hope the new owner is liking it as much as I did
