Wow, that's a lot of $ to drop on water filtration. What was/is so wrong with your water source that it needs such remediation?
Have you seen the movie "FLOW" (For Love Of Water)? I recommend it highly - deals with potable water as a commonwealth resource etc, on national and international scale as well as very local. Includes Macosta County Mich, where my some of my family live. Nestles under the name of "Cold Mountain" is stealing and selling for profit 300,000+ gallons of water/day from the aquifer. They made a "sweet deal" w state politicians for tax breaks and permits etc.
One of the individual serving plastic water bottles that I was given at Northfield/Mt Herman "Out of the Ashes" barn raising I kept in my car or truck for 4 yrs, refilling it daily from my tap. It got run over, so finally went to recycling. The water at the tap inside our framing building/art studio classroom was cool, sweet and potable - didn't need bottled water delivered morning and afternoon by 2 students on a motorized golf cart..
Hopefully habits have changed there since. I did enjoy the project and the students and the T Framers and the spirit of the event. My favorite rendezvous are Habitat and Gould Farm. I hope to get to Brasstown NC and Knoxville TN in 2 -3 weeks. Selling some stuff first. I'm working at a fast and steady pace, occasionally looking over my shoulder, mostly looking at projects at hand and looking forward.
