thanks for all the info. I have several large white oaks about 33" diameter I would say 120 years old. They are the biggest trees around this wooded area (in southern indiana). I think I will try and cut several timbers from each and let you all know how it goes. I will tell you all the info available on this subject is very limited cause people jsut don't cut trees likethis nor do they cut 8x8.
