I know I am leaving tradition here but how do you all fasten a say 8x8 oak post to a poured concrete pier?? Especially if your piers are less than accuratly placed.. thanks

several ways... depending on use / load / etc.

cast in straps, bolt down simpson fasteners, custom steel t plates, epoxied in bolts... etc. etc...

What about no fastening at all?

With every building adjustments have to be made, based on as built conditions.

If you have a foundation plan, and a floor plan showing the post locations then hopefully the poured concrete pier isn't out very much.

Drilling out the concrete pier to add an epoxied in bolt maybe a good choice.

If this is a pier in the center of the bent for say a three post bent and the outside posts are held down then the middle one may not need a center hold down.

It depends, with more information provided by you as to where the posts is in the frame and other frame design details maybe more advice can be shared....

We've used timberlinks, Mark can give more details.
The post ends up sitting on a threaded rod with nut and washer,, but seems to work well. Helps with leveling up of the frame!

If your concrete is bad enough that the post is hanging over the edge, you should probably consider repouring the piers.
