I am no expert, however, I am doing a project now and have done some research. 2 main companies make these types of post bases. Simpson Strong Tie and USP. Below is the link to the USP Catalog for bases:

I used the PAU88R (These are for 8x8 Rough sawn post) EXTREMELY Heavy Duty. Imbed 1/2 Foundation bolts (Look like a L) into concreete. A bit pricey ... $60 buck per, but I only want to do in once.
