I am currently working in Dade City, FL(Great weather) and wanted to present an invitation to anyone interested in timber framing. The frame is a cypress 12 x 12 king posted building. It is a combo of square rule and edge rule and most of the layout is finished. There are a few days of cutting left and I hope to raise it the end of this week. Call or email your interest to jwtimberframer@aol.com, 770-294-1703.

Back home in Western NC (Great weather is relative) and yet another invitation to those with an interest in timber framing. The good news about this intro workshop is a less demanding schedule than the frame in FL. It will be a little of everything as far as layout. The materials will ultimately dictate the size and style of the building and I think some sort of cruck like profile will be incorporated in the gable bents. 10' or 12' wide and around 16' long are the suspected dimensions. If anyone would like to check it out, let me know. I have lots of literature, some tools to share and a stack of wood.
You can come for a day, a week or the whole project which we hope to incorporate cord wood, straw bale, and some green building techniques.(Water reclamation, passive solar, and thermal massing).
This is again a free workshop. And classes will be scheduled collectively. The main focus is learning and habit building. We will move forward with a "we are only as strong as our weakest hiker" philosophy.
