Well since I've opened sketchup maybe only a half a dozen times what I would do would open the dwg in AutoCAD, run the "SCALE" command and shrink the entire model by 1/2.54, save the file, and import it back into sketchup using cm's as the unit again....if you want my 2 cents... well, actually slighty more than 2-1/2 cents!
