With good reason, even in the small slice of the timber framing community that uses this forum, there seem to be a bunch of folks who cite and use digital copies of Hodgson's Light & Heavy Timber Framing -

I'm glad for Google Books, but there are other digital libraries, some do a far better job scanning, and have a more user friendly interface...

A searchable database, and downloadable EPUB versions for your e-reader - Way more easy reading than sitting at the desk...
