Hi all, been away for a couple of years, had log in problems, and kind of lost interest cuz of that. anyways, I bought a mill, finally, a locally manufactured (peterborough ontario) 20 year old board bandit sawmill. I have switched out the 18 hp kohler for a 13 hp honda. (since I want it to start when I need it,and I'm not going into lumber production anyways, no need for electric start!) and I got in in april, finally got it running last weekend! I want to switch out the block and main bearing blade guide for roller guides. Looking for advice on who can help me make this happen! I apologize if this post is out of place, did a quick forum search, didn't find any info. Glad to be back in the forum. help please.

My mill uses these. I have six, three on each side, riding on the body of the band and one on each side at the back of the band as a restricter,keeping the band from moving back in the cut. They are mounted to some 3/4 solid stock with large bolts, I think 5/8".

Timbeal, thanks, but those aren't the bearings I'm trying to source. I think these are woodmizer style, two are all that are needed, just to push the blade down a little, and have an intergal thrust lip. Thanks anyways, I will peruse the website you posted. dave

If they are Woodmizer type, why don't you buy them from Woodmizer?
They should sell them to you....

I was hoping for some help, since they will not be a simple switch. I likely will have to get the guide mounts fabricated.

thanks to all for the postings. I'm suprised no one else has anything to comment. Surely there are timberframers out there who have sawmills?

Have you resolved your guide system?

I don't know if WM will sell the parts to you, maybe if you specify that you have another brand of mill. For me to buy parts for my WM, I have to be the registered owner. I can't buy parts for my friends WM, which I often work on, they have to get them.

There are a number of companies that will sell guide roller systems. Cook's is one.

Wow, I never heard that before. Doesn't make sense to me. If someone wanted to buy some parts why wouldn't they sell them?

In case of a stolen mill. If I was added to their account I could then order parts.
