My name is Mauro and i'm a furnituremaker and carpenter in Sweden,tought i come from Italy..i want just say hi to everyone and ask a question..i had a one week course in Sweden the last year,and now i'm going to build a small cabin in the woods,i will use a step lapped rafter joint,but looking on the jack sobon's book,there is a bird's mouth alternative on the rafter seat,i want just ask how you calculate the lenght of the rafter that as a bird's mouth seat cut and a pocket that will receive the bird's mouth..i want also ask if you have some good tips about a good book to buy that show various tipe of joinery..thank you for the help!
