We have now completed building of our cruck timber frame barn and have enclosed this with a cedar shake roof and Douglas Fir / Larch feather edged weather board siding.

You can see pics of the barn on Oxfordshire Woodland Group on Twitter

We now need to establish the best way to go about fitting barn doors and window shutters to the barn.

Hi Ken,

I have been following along on twitter...It looks great!!!

What are you thinking about for the frame for doors and shutter hinges?

Perhaps something traditional like forged strap or will you go even further back to a "harrhung" system of wood pintle in the sill and header above...or "let in" system within the jamb beams?

Blessings,

j
