Being that I'm new to the art of Timber Framing I'm going to ask this basic question. I was planning on laying the deck (Framed with I-joists and plywood with blocking under the posts) first and then attaching the timber frame to the deck. What is the best method for fastening the posts to the deck?? I'm not crazy about using L-brackets that I'll have to notch flooring around. Anyone have any suggestions??
