I am designing a Cape Cod type residence w/ 1 eyebrow dormer per bay per side. Each dormer will be 6 foot wide and 3 foot high centered within each bay. My problem is how can I frame this dormer, round and how do i skin them.

The compound curves of the true eyebrow dormer are tough to frame in heavier timber, consider the wooden boat as an example of such a shape. The small size in question pushes most materials to the limit. Light framing, MARINE GRADE bending plywood, loose insulation or spray foam. I have built a couple and consulted on others. I would be glad to try and help.

I'm an amateur builder who has never built an eyebrow, but I've been thinking about it like crazy! I didn't really like the look of an eyebrow until I saw this classic house in Regina Sask., and now I can't get enough.
