I've read in Jack Sobon books and know from meeting him personally that he has as many as twenty different types of wood in his house frame. And that in the "olden days" they also did this as they used what was available, on site, to build with.
The only thing that could happen that could cause some problems would be different shrinkage rates. But I'm not totally sure about this.
