Hi all. I have in the past made my own pegs from trees harvested from my bush. I cut the log into 1 foot blocks, split with an axe and froe to 2" square blanks and use a pushknife and block plane from there. My method is to prop the blank between my belly and a sturdy bench and shave down to size with the pushknife. With every peg I make I think of how a shaving horse would make this process a lot easier, I could even switch to a drawknife without fear of dissemboweling myself. My problem is locating one, or even a picture of one so I can build it myself. Anyone know of were I might find a photo or better yet, plans for a shaving horse. Thanks.
