I am nearing the end of cutting my first frame and it seems it has taken me an awfully long time to get here. I was just wondering if I'm slow as a turtle, or if I'm doing ok? The frame is a 24X36, four bent, high posted cape. So far I've got about 8 weeks into it. There is only the braces, collar ties and queen post left to cut. I'm trying not to be too harsh on myself and include somewhat of a learning curve in there. Also the weather for working outside here in NH wasn't exactly ideal for most of this winter. Any input would be helpfull. Good or bad.

what are you using for tools?

I have a chain mortisser and a 10" Makita saw but other than that the ussual hand tools, chissels etc.

sounds normal enough to me if you are working alone.....

Mikeo - you are moving at the same rate I was on my barn frame of the same size and I was working indoors. At any rate, it isn't the time it takes, it's the fun you have while doing it - unless, of course, you're trying to make money at it. Good luck with your project. jekbear
