Hello all,
I am cutting trees (Doug Fir) for my fist Timber Frame project and coating all the ends with end-sealer. I am using a thick white sealer from Bailey's.
Also, I am about to start milling but I am not sure if I should use the same white stuff on the ends of the dimensioned timbers -- or switch to the finishing product (which I have not made a decision about) that I will use in the completed house. Do you have any advice on what is a good final finish for the timbers? And should I apply it before morticing or after installation?
