I have been using an early version of VW (mini-cad7) since '96. My decision to buy this software was based on two factors: 1, I use a Mac. so Auto CAD was not an option. 2,I read an article in Joiners Quarterly #30,Modeling the Historic Globe Theater in CAD.I am planing to upgrade to VW 11 ASAP since I have up graded to OS X and MC7 has to run in classic.I rarely need to use 3D in my work so I dont have much experiance with 3D.I have spoken with several other Timberframers who also use VW and I know that it is being used.I have found that it's very easy to export drawings to Auto CAD. I feel that VW offers everything that I need at a much more reasonable price than anything else that I have seen.I have always wondered why more people are not using Vectorworks.I have found it to be easy to learn and very efficient to use.
