I recently applied for a permit for a small timberframe structure based on design principles as presented in Jack Sobon's book which outlines the building of a garden shed. I will need an engineer's seal to obtain the permit. Can you provide me with a list (not a referral) of structural engineers licensed in North Carolina whom I might ask to review my plans?

Chris,

I am sure you can appreciate that Guild cannot be in the referral business when it potentially means recommending one member over another. We get many such requests and are working on a solution to this problem. In the meantime, I suggest the following:

1. Check the Guild roster for fellow North Carolinians and see if any of them has a working relationship with a NC PE.

2. Post your question on the Guild Guestbook (http://www.tfguild.org/guestbook.html) and also at the TFG Bulletin Board (http://www.tfguild.org/wwwboard/wwwboard.html) in the hope that a bigger net may catch more fish.

Good luck,

Ed Levin
