OK. So I have decided that because of my continuous usage of this forum to post stuff that has absolutely nothing to do with axe throwing, I shall return the favour given to me by Steve L. by learning to throw an actual axe and compete in the 2008 competition in Coer d'Alene. I wasn't going to say anything about it, but was convinced to make it public by another member, who, by the way, should start practicing to chuck some real axes as well... It is pretty much a no brainer...I'm ok at darts and archery, I'm Swedish, I like chopping wood, I repress some anger, and Coer d'Alene is near-by. And I have a year to figure it out. It may just come naturally to me, or I may totally suck at it. Either way, I will just do it. Anyone with me?

Right. Sorry. "Derek is only part Swedish" Funny, because I'm actually only part Swedish as well. But I lived in Sweden for 8 yrs - finished school there, paid taxes there, speak the language fluently...So I tend to call myself just Swedish. Mind you, the other 1/2 of me is Carrier Indian, also known for throwing an axe around once in a while. Any ways, enough about me - Who's gonna throw some axes? I've found someone local to show me, a guy that runs the loggers sports, (oops...apparently not enough about me yet...) so I hope to get hucking this weekend. C'MON PEOPLE!!! Don't make me get forceful...

I dunno, TG, I've spent so many years trying to hang onto the damn axes.... throwing them might be a bit much for the old brain....

Most excellent TG. Did you get hucking this weekend? Learning new things is good. Keep us in the loop.
I don't know if I mentioned this before, but I watched my uncle huck a can of black spray paint on the asphalt - the tin pierced and artfully decorated his vinyl siding with figure 8's. Be careful what you huck.
Cheers, brock

Hey, B-Rock!! Long time! You wanna join the club? So, ya, I picked up a small tomahawk axe today just to try it out... It went so-so. I chewed up a few tables and aerated the lawn...did that until the handle broke... Then I moved to the larger chopping axe and threw it with both hands the way you're supposed to with the double headed one, and that worked surprisingly well for me. I think I hit my stump every 2nd time as opposed to every 10 times with the smaller one. Shopping List: array of axes axe handles more wooden stands/old crappy patio tables

Doesn't look like you're quite ready for the 'apple on a friend's head' trick just yet, but good on ya!
Hey.... Wait a second.... Is that green grass you're standing on??? WHAT THE??? I still have 2 feet of that white shtuff in my yard. Was felling some birches today and sinking with every step. Now I'm tired.
How far away from the target are you supposed to be?
