I own a decrepit 19th-century farmhouse in Enosburgh, Vermont. I am told by people who are knowledgeable about such things that many of the timbers in the structure are worth salvageing. And so I am looking for someone who is willing to level the venerable old house in exchange for hauling away anything that he or she wants. There are also several hundred old brick in the house, as well as two 20th century collar ties: these are similarly for the taking to anyone who agrees to take the place down.

I have two concerns. First, I have to have this work done before 1 April 2009 in order to get the building off the tax rolls by that date. Secondly, I fear that if I can't find someone to do this, the old place will end up being buried and/or burned and/or hauled away to a dump, which would be a travesty from both practical and environmental perspectives.
