bridge trestles - 12/29/99 11:51 PM

My company has been asked to bid on the construction of section of a 1880's train trestle. The section is 28 feet tall and they want a section about 40 feet long. Has anyone ever built a train trestle before and what sort of problems will i encounter with using green logs as they dry out inside a museum? I need to build this in Nebraska anyone interested in building it for me?

Your right it is fun what is even more interesting is that this trestle bridge will be built within a bridge! They have built an arch over highway 80 and are putting a museum in it. I must be completed by May 1, not much time. I guess the lumber will be whatever I can get on short notice. I do have a budget so any help or advice would be appreciated

Sounds like an adventure.

What other information is there?

Will this be a static display in a museum somewhere, or a working trestle?

What species of wood?

What kinds of loads?

How much time do you have?
