there's not much timber framing going on down here in sunny SW Florida so thats why i jumped at the opportunity to design and build this back porch addition for one of my clients. before starting this project i had no expirence and no idea what to expect with this type of job but with some quick study and a brand new chisel from Barr Quarton im hooked, i love this stuff.

That's sweet for a 1st project!
And Barr makes a great chisel, good choice.
Keep going!

thanks, there was a lot of head scratching and a few not so pretty joints but it wasnt for lack of trying. not only a learning expirence but really enjoyable to just hear the 'swoosh' of the pull saw and the solid 'bite' of the chisel. and the client is just thrilled with it too. not sure when i'll get to do another, but i'm in love with the process and will build a true timber frame for my self soon.
