I have been following the coverage of trebuchets and saw the PBS show. I can't control myself or crew any longer,
we have to make a small one for ourselves. It may be a good way to get rid of all of those blocks of wood laying
around the yard. Does anyone have plans or design specifications?

While it's true that the Guild will not provide plans for trebuchets, I know that the three fellows who worked the hardest on developing the trebuchets from manuscripts are actively discussing releasing a set of plans for a table-top sized model. No one in his right mind would sell or even give away plans for a full-scale version in this litigous age.

I am following up to my own question. I searched the web for trebuchet and found a lot of info for anyone interested in this subject. the best thing I found is at www.trebuchet.com it is called mactreb and by entering diferent specifications it will show you the performance of your trebuchet. It is only avalable for mac users but we all have a mac dont we? You can do a search for mactreb and go right to it.

Terry;
Wood magazine had an article complete with plans and materials list about 2 years ago. I happened to be looking for something a while back and ran across it. I will look and see if I can find it again. If you will e-mail me at keithrf@totaltools.net, I will tell you what issue and year. Then you can look it up in the archives at www.woodonline.com. Hope this helps. Keep me posted on its progress. I would like to build one just for kicks to see if I can do it. Someday.
