Timber Framing utilizing Rammed Earth Fillins

I am toying with the construction of a timber framed home and wondering if anyone knows of this type construction where rammed earth or some type of soil (eg. soil-straw) application was used between the post to form the exterior walls. I have a site with a decent clay-sand mixture. I am just looking for a way to utilize on site materials to hold cost down. Any comments will be appreciated. Thanks !!
