I have just been informed that the UK's tallest tree - a 223 foot European Silver Fir has just fallen in the gales which swept the UK last week.
This was one of our best kept secrets.
Previously two Douglas Firs - one at Dunans, Argylleshire and one at the Hermitage, Perthshire had been eroneously accorded this title.
The good news is that the silver fir stood in a block of similarly sized trees.
Keep checking our website for pictures and news on this latest scoop.
You heard it first on the TFG.
