Barn repairs

Barn repairs - 05/11/99 02:56 AM

I am looking for a company or persons that do barn repairs. I have a barn that is 130 years old and the last 5 years, the weather has taken a toll on the old barn. It has large wood beams, two stories and a slate roof. The barn is located in the center of Ohio, not to far from the Dresden area where the barn was erected for Longenberger. Anyone with information, please contact me by e-mail at foucht@mindspring.com

Mel,

Try posting your query on the This Old Building thread and I am sure you will get a response from moderator Rudy Christian (the Ohio Timber Framer who coordinated the Longaberger barn frame) and others.

Hi Mel:
I would try the local agricultural community as a source of local repair specialists. Check their history and references and be prepared to decide what your budget will allow in terms of purity of repair. I would certainly encourage you to repair the work in-kind but understand the costs of this work. I will try to respond as I can to any further questions. Curtis
