Makita 16" saws - 5402A v's 5402NA - 05/02/04 11:18 AM

Does anyone have any advice on which of these two models is better?
Obviously the NA model has an electric brake which from a safety point of view is nice but is there anything else to watch for?

thanks...Simon

Brakes are really nice and worth the price. In my shop, we use 415mm saws similar to the 5402 but beefier. One is almost antique and lacks a brake, the other is a few years old and it's the one I reach for. Besides the obvious saftey issues the non-braking model takes a while to coast to a stop.

I believe the NA model also has more power.
