Lignatool Chainsaw Cutting System

Has anyone used one? What do you like about it, what dont you like about it?

I just bought a Mafell Chain Beam Saw for a job involving a lot of big W. Oak. It looks like the Lignatool would quite a bit more awkward and probably not as clean a cut. But I have never used the Lignatool.
I know the Mafell is extremely expensive, but I highly recommend it if the volume of work justifies it. My Mafell should pay for itself in saved time and accuracy pretty quickly.
BTF, I couldn't find the chainsaw attachment on the Fink site. Is it the same company that does biomass boilers?

Thanks for the info. I have seen the Mafell and that is what I am leaning to, but I wanted to see if anyone had any first hand experiences with the Lignatool.

Hi, yes, same company. If you look at the bottom of the main page, click on "other equipment". They call it a "timber framers fence". I agonized over buying this thing ($1800 bucks), but am VERY happy with it. I use it just.as the picture shows. I was concerned that the saw body, handle and trigger are so high on the tool raising the centre of gravity when you push, but it works fine. There is an auxiliary handle on the base that helps as well. The advantage of this attachment is you can mount any chainsaw with any depth of cut. The cut is very clean, but you have to score the top surface of the timber. Two hands is a good idea, so a clamped guide (chunk of plywood) is recommended. The ligna tool, as well as the mafell have capacity limits. This thing is wide open. I'll let you know how it works with a 32" blade, lol. (I will be wearing a steel athletic cup).Obviously I would like the mafell with the carbide chain too, it would be stored behind glass on an alter.

For $1800 that looks like a pretty good tool. It looks easier to use than the Ligna tool.

The lignatool seems overly complicated. The fink attachment is extremely accurate and easy to handle. Score the top cut line well. I wouldnt use it freehand, though. I doesn't take much to clamp a stick, square, or what have you to the timber.
Windknot, I dont know how to post vid or pic. After posting this I will look for info.
I do have a very short vid of it. Also a pic of an alaskan I use with a jig for tenoning, and knifeplate slots. I'm really happy with the timber framer's fence It's not a mafell, but it's the right colour.
