She has no torque what so ever. Gets into a piece of wood that should be no problem and just stops with the dreaded hum. I think I have used her to rip one too many times.

Anybody fixed one before? I've replaced armatures in the smaller circs but not the Big Mak.

Sounds like she may have been run too often on a bad or too long of an extension cord. Rebuilding an electric engine (unless you can do it yourself and don't count your time)is nowadays done less expensively by buying another. That my take...look forward to others 2 cents.

I'm not sure about your makita service centre there but, here they will take it apart and tell you whats wrong before they charge to fix it.

Hey Mo, any local electric motor repair shop (ask other contractors for a reference) can handle the tear down, diagnosis and repair, but I would source the parts from Timberwolf Tools since they would be most familiar with getting the right parts for model and series match.

Hey Guys,

Thanks for the feedback. I find myself always wanting to repair things in this "throw it away, buy another" culture, regardless of economic feasibility.

I need to convince myself that there is just not enough time to do everything.

I have enlisted a local repair service that I do a great amount of retail business with.

Thinking its the motor, we will see.

Thanks!
