I would like the button to be closer to the number pad, some of the other key strokes can be reassigned, I looked in preferences/shortcuts, no luck there. Clark, you must use the esc key?
Well, yes, I use the escape key. But this does not seem to be a "command" as sketchup defines them. It does many different things, depending on what you are currently doing. It must be hardwired to do this based on the context. So, no, I don't see a way to remap that. You could perhaps map an unused mouse button to it? What are those sketches, Mark? CB.
how would I map esc to an unused mouse button? Or map anything to mouse buttons, for that matter? The sketches are todays work... The top is a roof reno, second, third and below are a barn frame that will hopefully be a cottage someday.
I have a logitech G5 mouse. It has the normal buttons: L and R and scroll wheel, but also a side button under the thumb, and a couple of smaller ones in front of the wheel. Using the logitech software, you can map those to keystrokes, specific to each application. For Sketchup, I have the thumb button mapped to the shift key. That allows me to both orbit and pan without using the keyboard (since pan is shift+orbit). It's also handy for selecting multiple items.
Drawings look great. Got all the braces on thier own layer? Thats's a funny view. CB.
the model is here if you're curious. It's pretty simple, just for "the banker" The timber from the old barn looks like fun, -lots of 12x12. I spose I should make a donation to logitek and get a decent mouse.....
