SketchUp Web Embedment

SketchUp Web Embedment - 07/16/09 02:04 AM

I've been playing with the SketchUp Web Exporter. Not a clear science yet, but some great possibilities to embed '3d' models into web pages.

First try is here... and when I have more time I've found a hack on the web to get the interiors to work.

Click and hold once the image loads - and move the mouse right and left to rotate the structure. It gets choppy in Firefox and seems to work glitch free in IE and Chrome.

Very cool! Is this flash technology? More details please! Step by step, if you have the time. CB.

Not flash. Just a simple script with a series of images.
Flash would certainly run smoother... but flash is beyond me at the moment. JavaScript I believe.

It is the same technology driving the 3d Warehouse '3D View' preview feature.

Here is a short video tutorial.

Here is a tutorial on hacking the output.
