Good day!
timber frame extensions 2.4.5 is it compatible with the 2015 sketchUp? I just upgraded to the 2015 and am having trouble setting up the TF rubies that I had in sketchUp 8 in the 2015.
Thanks,

The latest version is 2.4.5, and it is compatible with SU2015. Older versions of the TF Rubies are not compatible. You can get the latest from the Sketchup extension warehouse. CB.

Re: tf rubies - 04/19/15 05:43 PM
Hopefully one last question. I am used to having the "Components" timber list on the top RH section of the screen in SU8. I have the "extensions" menu now downloaded in SU2015. I am a bit confused on where this timber list went or if I make everything from scratch where would the list be and can it be on the screen?
Thanks

It should be similar to what you had before. Go to Window | Components from the main menu. If you don't see it, use "open or create local collection", and find the folder that contains your timbers. I prefer the "list" view, since the icons for the timber all look pretty similar, and you can fit more on the page in list view.

Thanks again for your help. Are you having any training sessions this fall at the TFG conference in ID?

I've been using tf rubies for awhile but I cant seem to get curved components to show properly when made into a shop drawing. I've attached a link to few screen shots. I've tried changing axes etc.so I'm not sure what I'm doing wwrong.
Thanks, Merv

Re: tf rubies - 05/31/16 02:13 AM
Hi Merv. What's happening is that the software is trying to lay the timber down "the long way". While that seems intuitive to you and I, for the computer, that's a difficult concept. What it does is look for the longest straight line in the component. In your case, it's the shoulder of the tenon. Not what you wanted, I know, but that's the best the program can do. So you'll just have to manually rotate those views after you generate the shops to get them where you want them. CB.

Thanks for your response! Manually rotating the views is no problem as there generally very few curved components in my frames. Nice to know how the computer generates the drawings and that I'm not doing anything wrong!

I have not used my SketchUp TF Rubies combo for a while, so made an update and went to download the latest TF Rubies file. So far no luck, northernlightstimberframing.com seems to have disappeared and they are not listed in the SketchUp extensions library.
Any ideas, Google has come up blank too
Go into Sketchup, 'window' on the top menu, then extension warehouse. It'll be in there, and they work with the latest version.

I don't think they're there anymore, Brad. Check it out and let me know if you find them. I have an inquiry in to Mike B. who will contact daiku if need be. They may be offline for an upgrade. Mike has them on thumb drive for our class next week if people need them.

As Timberwrestler says: Almost all Sketchup plugins are now distributed through their Extension Warehouse. Let me know if the steps he describes don't work for you.

Re: tf rubies - 10/20/16 06:12 PM
I made a small text change to the description a few weeks ago, and their robots that validated the code flagged something that has always passed before. So the plugin is temporarily unavailable. I'm working on getting them to fix the problem, and if that fails, I'll try to change the code to not flag the error any more. Sorry for the inconvenience. Meanwhile, this link should lead to a .rbz file you can install manually:

Brilliant thanks Clark ... I had assumed there was some sort of problem

Re: tf rubies - 11/14/16 03:29 PM
So I lost my argument with the Sketchup Robots, and had to make some updates to my code. But a new version compatible with SU17 is now available from the usual location:
http://extensions.sketchup.com/en/content/timber-framing-extensionsThanks for your patience, and sorry for the hiccup.
