timber markings

Hello guys,

I'd like a good reference book which lists the standard markings used to label timbers. Is there such a book?

I'd also like to find a good race knife...

FYI; i found a great source of inexpensive brass tags for labeling timbers on dismantling jobs: ebay: search for "brass tags" people are selling dog tags in lots of 100 for $8.

Richard Harris discusses this a little in his book, Discovering Timber Framed Buildings, but it's specific to British buildings.
