Massachusetts Barn - 08/11/04 07:21 PM

Our property in W.Mass used to be a 100 acre dairy farm and was owned by the same family until 2001, when we purchased it. The house was built in 1885, not sure about the barn, but it's big and old. It has a slate roof and one (knowledgeable?) building inspector said the timbers are in fine shape. It has a slate roof, which lost a couple of slates this past winter.

We love this barn, but are afraid we will not be able to care for it well enough over next few years because we need to focus on the house. We are thinking of selling it. Any advice on the matter is appreciated.

Thanks!

hello, hope4thebest;

I specialize in the reuse of old timber frame barns and especially focus on barns in New England. I have two other barns to survey in the coming weeks in Royalston and Colraine. I'd be happy to come take a look at your barn and help you determine what can be done with it.

Feel free to email me or call me direct.
