searching for work in southern us - 11/21/05 12:27 PM

Hello!

I am a timber framer from germany. i´m going to travel to the us next january. i´m searching for some work in the south expecially in lousianna. i have no idea, if i need any permission or how to get it. does anybody know some organisations that rebuild the hurrican-destroyed regions. perhaps there´s a chance to get a legal permission that way. but if anybody needs a helping hand in his company or for any kind of constructive woodwork, just contact me. i am pleasant for any answers and i´m very flexible in my journey-plans.

Hi Andreas,

Peter

Hi Andreas,

Do you need a permission, hence a work visa to come to the US and work?
Yes, you do. In order to get one you will have to find an employer first. No sure about the actual procedures. If you are only planning on coming for not more than 3 month you could come on the visa waiver program. You might want to talk to somebody at the US consulate in Germany (either in Berlin or Frankfurt). They might have more info. Or check out their webpage.
If you want more info and if German is easier to communicate
in send me a PM. I will be happy to help if possible.
