Ontario Tframers raise your chisels - 06/14/07 06:19 PM

just wanted to drop in and say hello. I have been lurking around the site for a little while, I'm a total newbie to this art and find the info and pics (especially the pics grin) very helpful.
A few weeks ago I completed my first wood structure, a coop for our chickens and turkeys grin Not quite the fullblown frame, but still had a blast building it and I think the chickens will dig it too grin

Anyways, I would love to connect with some experienced local framers, help loggin', cuttin', raisin' whatever need be and get some more tech help and hands on exp. If there are workshops or gtg's in southern ON, please let me know.

haha, thanks... it's also going to house 5 wild turkeys. LOL
I found some eggs in the bushes few weeks back, didn't know how long the mother was gone for but figured what da heck, see if one of the hens will sit on them.... well, the hen sat for almost three weeks, they all hatched, one got poked in the head by an unfriendly hen and died. The rest of them are all doing fine so far but will probably need a pen of their own one day.
Mark, I'm quite familiar with your website, my gf has sent me the link about 100 times.....in the last two weeks... lol
We're just west of Alliston, the potato capital of ON..

Okay, I have to comment.

Derek, that is some of the nicest siding application I've ever seen. How did you get those corner miters so tight?

Cheers

Awwww, so sad about the turkeys...
But you know, they do smell pretty bad.
And ducklings are so ubber cute, makes me wanna puke.

This is what I had for a while the other day.

A friend came by with little billy, taking him to someone who will feed him up good and slaughter him when he's ready frown
Check out cat in the background- "LASERS CHARGING....FIRE WHEN READY"
Apparently he's a touch inbred (the goat, not the cat. Well, maybe the cat, too)...his daddy is also his grandpa, so no good for breeding.
I almost kept him...that is until the owner told me he's gonna get to about 200lbs.
No go on the goat.
I'm sure he'll make a fine feast.
